The Student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and responsibilities of every student enrolled at the Australian Institute of Hospitality & Management (AIHM).
By enrolling at AIHM, students agree to act with honesty, courtesy, and respect towards peers, staff, property, and the broader learning community. The Code supports the principles of fairness, equity, safety, academic integrity, and professional behaviour—both on campus and during industry placements.
This Code applies to all courses, locations, and learning environments including excursions, events, and online platforms. Serious breaches may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion, depending on the severity of the incident.
Students are encouraged to raise concerns about misconduct and will be supported throughout any formal process with confidentiality, fairness, and procedural transparency.
Upholding a learning environment free from harassment, bullying, or discrimination.
Students must act honestly, submit original work, and follow AIHM’s behavioural expectations.
Academic and non-academic misconduct (including cheating and plagiarism)
Respect for staff, students, and campus rules
Prohibited behaviours such as harassment, discrimination, bullying, and cyberbullying
Expectations for industry placements, excursions, and online learning
Guidelines on use of facilities, campus resources, and IT systems
Penalties for misconduct, including written warnings, suspension, or expulsion
Complaint and appeal procedures for students facing allegations
For serious breaches, AIHM will follow a formal investigation process as outlined in the Complaints & Appeals Policy & Procedure.
